Join us in celebrating the one year anniversary of the VermaSpine practice. While, Dr Verma has been a spine surgeon for many years, he started his own a concierge style evidenced based spine practice in 2020. It was one of the toughest years to start a business, but we have grown incredibly in just one year.

While many meetings have been cancelled or converted to virtual meetings this year due to COVID-19, Dr Verma maintains academic interests and continues to help with committee appointments. He remains active with the scoliosis research society (https://www.srs.org/) meeting, which is considered to be the most prestigious spine conference of the year and the benchmark for clinical research related to scoliosis.

Dr. Verma was invited to San Francisco to teach a group of 50 surgeons principles of spine deformity and revision surgery.  Complex pathologies and case examples from Dr. Verma’s practice were used to educate surgeons from around the country

This month, Dr. Verma traveled to Monterrey, Mexico with the global spine outreach foundation to perform free surgery on children with complex scoliosis.  He has been passionate about global outreach for ten years. Dr. Verma is also a recent recipient of the Edgar Dawson Traveling Fellowship through the Scoliosis Search Society

Dr. Verma is faculty for the Shelby Spine Conference this month in Park City Utah.  His lecture teaches fellow surgeons principles of adult spinal deformity in the neck as well as the lower back.  Research in spinal deformity has drastically changed spine surgery in the last decade. Implementation of these principles and improve chronic back pain after spine surgery and help reduce the risk of revision surgery.

This month Dr. Verma will be visiting Professor Lawrence Lenke at Columbia University in New York, NY to learn advanced principles of spinal deformity.  Dr. Lenke is considered the country’s leading expert on adult and pediatric spinal deformity in the United States.

This month, Dr. Verma gave a lecture at the prestigious Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) Conference in Bologna, Italy.  The Scoliosis Research Society is the oldest and most prestigious scoliosis society around the world whose singular focus is the advancement of scoliosis surgery worldwide.  Dr. Verma has been attending these meetings for 10 years and has twice been nominated (once awarded) the Russell Hibbs award for excellence in Scoliosis Research.

Join Dr. Verma in supporting a fundraiser for the Global Spine Outreach.  This is a volunteer organization that provides free scoliosis surgery to children abroad.  Fundraising event is located in Los Angeles.

Dr. Verma has relocated his practice to Southern California from the University of Washington in Seattle.  While he departs from a traditional academic position at a University Setting, he remains committed to the academic endeavors including, surgeon education, mentorship, global outreach, and clinical research.  His practice will serve patients in Los Alamitos, Long Beach, Orange County, Lakewood, Cerritos, Torrance, Huntington Beach, and other surrounding areas.
